“Never let the facts get in the way of a good story.” Old Irish Proverb
Nonetheless, this is the Simmzy's story...
Chris and Mike Simms are brothers that go way back, so they have a lot in common;
They both:
love drinking and eating (in that order)
brew beer in their garages
graduated from Cornell’s School of Hospitality
went into the family business (restaurants)
live within walking distance of this, their latest venture
and they are both known to their friends as Simmzy.
Chris, or Big Simmzy, is the beer guy. He has trained very hard for this enviable position, tasting everything he can in order to bring you the best-of-the-best from the craft beer scene. Simmzy’s has 24 rotating taps, so check the chalkboard for daily “off the handle” features.
Mike, or Little Simmzy, is the wine (and surfer) guy. He spends more time than a married-guy-with-a-kid should, tasting small production and boutique wines, thrilled by the discovery of a great off-the-radar wine. So on that rare occasion when beer just isn't going to do it, or you are with someone who doesn't like it, don't worry. Mike's got you covered with a rotating list of 30 wines by the glass.
Rounding out the Simmzy's team is chef partner, Anne Conness. A “Simmzy” at heart, she has put together a “pub-grub” menu that features local, responsibly-grown & seasonal ingredients. Her flavors are simple and bold, pairing favorably with the killer beer and wine choices.
The Simmzy's service mantra is “be friendly, be knowledgeable and smile every once in a while...or you're fired.
If you are reading this on your office computer, tell your boss you have a case of the Simmzy's and come join us for a beer. See you soon!
